What will new Twitter do to social media hit stats?

At the moment, if I embed a link to a Flickr photo, or a Youtube vid, I know that because it's an embedded link, people have to click it to view it. And this adds '1' to my hit count for that image or video. If I put a Flickr link in a tweet, I'll see around 20 hits at least on that image at the end of the day.??

If the new Twitter layout means that kind of media will be embedded on the page, that doesn't count or is measured as a hit in the same way. It remains to be seen if there'll be a way on the new Twitter.com to measure this. Of course, everybody says no one uses the Twitter website anyway, they're all using third party apps, so maybe I won't see much change…???
